Collage Development.

I wanted to share with you, my collage work I have developed for this 'Get it Loud in Libraries' brief we had earlier this year. I developed the collages because I felt that although my first set are good and they did answer my brief, I wanted to play more with my idea of character collages but with a much more modern and contemporary style and to also have the images fit my style of my portfolio.

Here's my final images. (all on A3, portrait)

Composition Development: Geek Chic

(This is a great site for the geek chic character).

Composition Development:Indie

Composition Development: Silver Surfer

When thinking about compositions for this brief, I knew from the beginning that I wanted to look at collage and at the very beginning of my research, with the influence from the original publication I got from the library, 'Our Betty' I loved the idea of using a frame in the image. Like this one from a previous post. It's almost like mixing the traditional with the new: much like the dictionary.

When trying to work out compositions for the final images, I also played with trying to create the faces of these characters. I do like this effect, but at the minute I'm unsure as to which composition I prefer.
