Robert Rauschenberg

Rauschenberg primarily worked within the boundaries of abstract expressionism, until he moved onto Pop art.

Rauschenberg's work explores the use of a variety of objects and materials to create his 'Combines' that he is well known for. He was both a painter and a sculptur and then he combined the two, to bring both art forms together to create something unique.

It's his use of layering imagery, whether that be with paint, objects, paper whatever- I just really love the idea of working onto imagery and having a piece that's always in the process of being finished.
