What is 'Get it Loud In Libraries' all about?

Get it Loud in Libraries is a project that focuses on the idea of making the library a cool place for people aged between 5-65 to hang out. It's a place where new music is shown to the varied audience.

GILIL launched in May 2005: the project aims to stage around 8-12 high profile gigs per year, pulling in people who haven't been inside the library walls for years, if at all. The acts so far have included the likes of Ellie Goulding, Daisy Dares You and Gabriella Cilmi, so the line up's are fab and will bring in the younger audience-the 14-25 year olds that GILIL wants to bring in to the library.

If you want to read up about the project further, or want details as to who is playing in which library next, visit their fab webpage, their facebook group page or their myspace page.

Here's a couple of acts that have joined the library recently...

Marina and the Diamonds

Juliette Lewis

Florence and the Machine

Darwin Deez
